Marbella is certainly one of the most important of the Costa del Sol tourist centers, thanks to the quality of its infrastructure and services. A dozen magnificent courses allow golfers in a setting of sea and mountains. Marbella is one of the main destinations of the Costa del Sol. Cabopino to Guadalmina, Marbella offers vacationers a beautiful coastline of 26 km with a succession of sunny beaches equipped with all necessary infrastructure and lined with modern hotels, residential complexes, shops and restaurants. Las beaches of San Pedro de Alcántara, a major city in months five miles of Marbella, are a fine example of harmony between nature and tourism development.
Marbella will delight sports fans. A dozen great golf courses are available to fans of the sport throughout the year. These lands have the backdrop scenery of rare beauty.

The old town of Marbella
The old town of Marbella is at the foot of the Sierra Blanca, in front of a beautiful bay. It features a typical Andalusian flavor, with orange scattered here and there and pretty whitewashed facades decorated grills and geraniums.
In the center, unfolds the Plaza de los Naranjos, Renaissance, flanked by noble buildings like the town hall (XVI c.) And the former Casa del Corregidor (XVII c.).
On the small plazuela de la Iglesia, stands Iglesia Mayor de la Encarnación, a church built in the sixteenth century. Then we find in these parts of the towers that were part of the ancient Arab fortress in the city, built in the ninth century.
The area is rich in archaeological sites, evidence of the original Roman town. You can visit the early Christian basilica of Vega del Mar, las baths of Guadalmina and the Roman villa of Río Verde.
The Museum of Contemporary Spanish Engraving, considered the largest of its kind in Spain, complete the cultural offer of Marbella. Established in Bazán (XVI century). Hospital, this museum houses an interesting collection of prints from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries signed artists as famous as Picasso, Miró and Dalí.
Gastronomy, festivals and surrounding area
The pescaíto frito (fried fish), ajoblanco (cold soup with almonds, olive oil and garlic) and gazpacho are among the tasty specialties of the cuisine of Marbella. The desserts need to be accompanied by an excellent sweet wine AOC Málaga.
Among the traditional festivities of Marbella include the Feria y Fiestas de San Bernabe, the first half of June. The program includes concerts, bullfights and other activities.
Holy Week and the fiestas of San Pedro de Alcántara, held in October, are the other important holidays in Marbella.
The excursion options along the Costa del Sol from Marbella, are numerous. A few kilometers away is Mijas, a village in the Sierra that extends to the coast. This is very popular with tourists. Torremolinos, Estepona, Benalmádena and Fuengirola are other major tourist cities.
The Sierra de las Nieves natural park in the middle of Sierra de Ronda, offers landscapes of extreme beauty. Close to Marbella, Sierra Blanca in full, we arrive in Istan, a village famous for its springs, and Ojen, of great ecological wealth.
